We’ve Never Seen an Election like This – But We’re Up to the Challenge!

This year, more than ever before, EMILY’s List will be outspent by conservative super PACs and shadow organizations that are flooding our races with anonymous, special-interest money. But EMILY’s List isn’t backing down. Since Speaker Boehner and his Tea Party allies took over the House of Representatives, our membership has grown from 400,000 members to over 1.5 million — and people are noticing.

Yesterday’s Roll Call featured EMILY’s List in an article on the electoral landscape in 2012, showing that Republican attacks on women’s rights and opportunities are energizing Americans who want to change the way Washington works. This is a historic year where we’re backing a record number of pro-choice Democratic women for Senate, and our community is excited about supporting them.

We know what we need to do to win our races and elect more pro-choice Democratic women to Congress. As EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock said in her interview with Roll Call, “EMILY’s List and our partners in the party need to make sure that women are mobilized, that they have the information they need and that they get to the polls. We’re going to have to do that underneath a tsunami of misinformation that is going to be coming from untold sources of Republican money. We’ve never seen an election like this.”

Our strategy works –we’re reaching out to independent women voters and partnering with other progressive organizations, efforts that have helped us send outstanding women leaders like Suzanne Bonamici to Washington and defend champions like Senator Claire McCaskill from false and hyper-partisan attacks. We know that our message of standing up for women and families will drown out right-wing corporate interests, and resonate with voters in November.

Scott Brown

I am horrified to hear that Scott Brown is supported by Koch money -- where can I find documentation of this? I would like to publicize it in my state. Thank you.
